Fire victim, Queen Jikeme appeals for financial support

A victim of a fire incident along Ugbaja,(Doherty) Street in Boji- Boji, Owa, Ika North East Local Government Area, Delta State, Queen Favour Jikeme has appealed for financial support from concerned residents, government or groups.

The tragic fire incident which occurred on Sunday afternoon, November 2,2025 damaged four shops with items worth millions of naira.

Queen Jikeme, a mother of three and a native of Ute- Ogbeje in Ika North East , Delta State in an interview with journalists said that on that fateful day which was Sunday, November 2, she arrived her shop where she sold provisions some minutes after 9.am. She disclosed that earlier that day she hired welders to work in her shop. She noted that the work was completed in her presence and the welders were about to leave her shop when a resident informed her that her neighbour’s shop was burning.

” I raised an alarm Immediately I noticed that fire was burning, as residents of the area joined in the struggle to put off the fire. I rushed out to a nearby mall to get a fire extinguisher, unfortunately, before I could return everything in the shops were completely burnt by the raging fire. I lost goods worth millions of naira, including a cash of #2.4 million”, Queen Jikeme stated

In tears, she appealed to government and concerned individuals, including groups to come to her aide for the loss was too much on her.
