It was a day of glitz, glamour, and profound impact as the Erommaose Nwokoro Foundation celebrated its 3rd graduation ceremony on Friday, April 10, 2026. The event marked a significant milestone for talented individuals who successfully completed intensive training in Baking and Pastry, Fashion Design, and Makeup Artistry.
The ceremony, held in an atmosphere of celebration, was attended by distinguished academics, government officials, and community leaders, underscoring the foundation’s growing influence in the Niger Delta’s entrepreneurial landscape.
The event commenced with a solemn opening prayer, followed by a warm welcome from Mr. Odiase Ehis, General Manager of the Erommaose Nwokoro Foundation. In his opening speech, Mr. Ehis highlighted the foundation’s unwavering commitment to human capital development and poverty alleviation through skill acquisition.
Taking the stage to a standing ovation, the Founder and President, Amb. Dr. Bernadette Erommaose Nwokoro, delivered a powerful founder’s speech. She urged the graduates to see their new skills not just as a means of survival, but as a tool for societal transformation.
A major highlight of the day was an intellectual plenary session focused on “Entrepreneurship Development.” The panel featured a galaxy of experts who dissected the challenges and opportunities within the Nigerian business ecosystem. The distinguished panelists included: Dr. Jude Igborgbor: Lecturer and Ag. Director, Center for Entrepreneurship Development, University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor. Mr. Memeh Friday: Deputy Director of Audit, University of Delta, Dr. Peterson Donald, former special adviser to the Delta State Government on entrepreneurship development.
The experts emphasized the need for consistency, financial discipline, and the utilization of digital tools in modern business.
The graduates proved they were ready for the market with high-energy presentations. The Fashion Design department showcased stunning skills, while the Makeup Artistry and Baking Departments displayed artistry that left the audience in awe. Thunderous applause filled the hall as guests marveled at the level of craftsmanship achieved within the training period.
In a touching tribute to her late father, Chief E. S. Nwokoro, Amb. Dr. Bernadette Eromma Nwokoro announced philanthropic donations to support the vulnerable. The Foundation presented cheques of ₦100,000 each to: Mercy Mine Home Care Agency and Daughters of Charity Sisters, Umunede
The peak of the event was the presentation of certificates and comprehensive starter packages to all nine graduates. Unlike many programs that leave graduates to fend for themselves, the Erommaose Nwokoro Foundation ensured each participant left with the tools necessary to begin their business immediately.
One of the graduates, visibly emotional during the vote of thanks, expressed profound gratitude to the foundation for “giving them a fishing hook rather than just a fish.”
The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer, marking the end of a successful graduation and the beginning of nine new entrepreneurial journeys that promise to boost the local economy of Ika land and beyond.
