Mr Sunday Kingsley Uche, also known as, DJ Best is a popular Disc Jockey in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. The multi- talented DJ is from Alihame, Agbor. In this interview with Ika Mirror, the young DJ talked briefly about how he delved into the entertainment industry and his desire to make it better.

Please introduce yourself and tell us about your professional career.
My name is Sunday Kingsley Uche, professionally known as, DJ BEST. I am a professional Disc Jockey, entertainment
entrepreneur and DJ mentor from Nigeria. I have been professionally involved in DJ job for more than 12 years. My
professional training began with K1 Entertainment in October, 2010 and I completed the training in June 2012. I began my
professional DJ career in 2012 and have continued to develop my skills through sound-engineering training and further DJ upskilling.
What motivated you to become a DJ?
My passion for DJ job started at an early age. I was introduced to music and entertainment through my father, Mr Sunday Osiele who was a
Disco man, popularly known as, Sunny Boggie. Watching him work with music and entertain people inspired me greatly and influenced my decision to pursue
DJ job as a professional career. That early exposure gave me a strong passion for music, which I later developed through
professional DJ training and continued professional development.
Tell us about your professional experience.
Since 2012, I have worked as a professional DJ at different types of events, including government, cultural, community,
corporate and social events.
Can you tell us about some of the major events you have worked at?
Some of the major events I have been involved with include, the Niger Delta Development Commission Children’s Day event on 19 June, 2026 at Vienna Arena, Old Lagos–Asaba Road, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, and the Nollywood Africa Golden Awards. I have also provided DJ and entertainment services at
events involving Agbor indigenes in the diaspora and sons and daughters of Ika Land, including events in 2013,
2024 and 2026.
What was your role at the NDDC Children’s Day event?
My role was to provide professional DJ and entertainment services at the NDDC Children’s Day event held on 19 June, 2026
at Vienna Area, Old Lagos–Asaba Road, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria.
What does your involvement with Agbor and Ika Land in general mean to you?
It is important to me because I value my community and culture. Being able to contribute my professional DJ skills to events
involving Agbor indigenes, Ika Land and people in the diaspora gave me an opportunity to combine my profession
with community and cultural activities.
Tell us about Kingsley Best Enterprises.
I founded Kingsley Best Enterprises as part of my professional development in the entertainment industry. Through the business, I provided professional DJ and entertainment services for different types of events.
What awards and recognition have you received?
During my career, I have received several recognitions. These include the K1 Entertainment Best Performing DJ Award in
2015, the Nollywood Africa Golden Award on 25 October, 2025, and a DJ Association Award on 31 March, 2026. I have also
received recognition in Istanbul, Turkey, for supporting the entertainment industry. I have the certificate of recognition for
this achievement.
You have mentored other DJs. Tell us about that.
Over the course of my professional career, I have mentored eight aspiring DJs — six boys and two girls. I have shared
practical DJ skills, technical knowledge, performance skills and professional guidance with them. Mentoring young DJs is
one way I contribute to the development of the next generation of talent in the entertainment industry.
How important is professional training to you?
Professional training has been very important to my development. I received my DJ training through K1 Entertainment from
October, 2010 to June,2012. I also undertook sound-engineering training in 2012 and have continued with further DJ
upskilling.
What has been one of the most important achievements of your career?
One of the most important achievements of my career has been building a professional DJ career over more than 12 years. I am
also proud that I have been able to develop my skills, receive recognition for my work and mentor young people who are interested in becoming DJs
What are your future ambitions?
My ambition is to continue developing my career as a professional DJ and entertainment entrepreneur. I want to continue
working on different entertainment and cultural events, develop my business and collaborate with other creative
professionals. I also want to continue mentoring, aspiring DJs and contributing positively to the development of young talents in the entertainment industry.
