In a remarkable display of compassion, commitment to education, and community development, the Queen Grace Ikenchukwu Foundation (QGIF) has extended its humanitarian outreach to pupils of Obika Primary School in Ime-Obi, Agbor, Delta State, through the distribution of free school uniforms, bags, learning materials, and food items to them.
The outreach programme, which was held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Obika Primary School premises, attracted an atmosphere of excitement and gratitude as the pupils, teachers, and stakeholders gathered to receive QGIF Foundation delegation. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the school headmistress, representatives of the Ika South Local Education Authority, dignitaries, and the Secretary to the Local Education Authority, Matthew Anyia, popularly known as MC Chimex.
Speaking during the event, one of the delegates, Hon. Peter Aguele emphasized the Foundation’s dedication to improving educational standards and providing pupils with the tools needed for academic success.
According to him, “The QGIF Foundation is supporting the school with learning materials. This season of Valentine, the Foundation is here to make you happy and enjoy.” His remarks drew applause from pupils who expressed joy at receiving the items.
Also addressing the gathering, Mrs. Uche Isedeh Udo-Obong, who spoke on behalf of the QGIF Founder, Princess Genevieve N. Ikenchukwu, stated that the gesture was aimed at encouraging the pupils to remain focused on their studies as they strive for a brighter future.
She noted, “On behalf of Princess Genevieve, we are here to present these items to better your future. We hope this will encourage and enable you to learn more,”.
In his appreciation speech, the Ika South Secretary, Local Education Authority, Comrade Matthew Anyia described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it would motivate pupils to take their education more seriously and also, strengthens effective teaching and learning within the school.
“This gesture will inspire our pupils to take their education seriously. It will also go a long way to enhance effective teaching and learning. I can assure you our pupils will make proper use of the items given to them today,” he assured.
He further commended the Founder of the QGIF Foundation for the gesture and urged her to sustain her support for the institution as she continues to contribute meaningfully to the education of her people.
He added emotionally, “With this, Princess Genevieve Nwabiani Ikenchukwu’s name will be written in gold. You have not only done this for Obika Primary School but also, for the entire Agbor Kingdom. You have complemented the efforts of the local and state governments.”
The event also brought back memories of the QGIF Foundation’s previous interventions, as it was recalled that the Foundation years ago constructed a toilet facility and a borehole for the school, including the provision of taps to supply water for the school and its immediate community, a project executed under the supervision of Prince Nkem Iwerinwa Obika and Prof. L. Obika.
The outreach programme concluded with smiles, songs of appreciation, especially from the pupils and their teachers.
