A young Nigerian and a native of Agbor, in the Delta State region of Nigeria, Mr Eluma Michael has been forced to flee Nigeria following a violent attack that claimed the lives of his parents and elder brother.

Our reporters reliably gathered that the sad incident occured on March 14, 2024, at about 10 p.m., when five masked men armed with guns and machetes invaded the family home of Mr Eluma Michael. The daredevil gun men met Eluma Michael, his parents and elder brother sitting together in the parlour and opened fire on them. Unfortunately, the gun men killed Eluma Michael’s parents, Mr. Eluma John and Mrs. Eluma Mary and his elder brother, Eluma David.

In an interview with Mr Eluma Michael some weeks after the ugly incident he said that he attempted to escape through the window but was struck with a machete and subsequently, shot on his right arm after which he lost consciousness and was later rushed to an hospital by neighbours. He disclosed that due to the severity of his injuries, his right arm was eventually amputated.

He further disclosed that he was informed during the period he was receiving treatment that the people responsible for the attack on his family home were still looking for him, hence, he ran away from the hospital and went into hiding.

He alleged that his family had been committed members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC political party and that his father had previously received threats from Mr. akpolo because of his political activities. He said a complaint was prepared with the assistance of a doctor and submitted to the police, but no effective protection was provided.
However, with the deaths of his parents and an elder brother and the warning from neighbours Mr Eluma Michael believed that his life remained at risk as the gun men continued to threaten to eliminate him anywhere he will be found in the country.
